Old World Spirits – Rusty Blade Gin

A warm, spicy, barrel aged gin; perfect on a winter night when you’re out of Scotch.

  • Appearance – Brown.
  • Aroma – Spice, cloves, and vanilla.
  • Flavor – Hot and spicy.
  • Proof – 124

Personally, I love this gin, although it’s pretty controversial. At issue obviously is the barrel aging, which as a part-time scotch drinker, I appreciate. For me, this gin doesn’t disappoint in all the wonderful new takes on cocktails you can make where you’d otherwise use scotch or whiskey.

For some, there are tastes that simply don’t belong in a gin and the extremely high proof just adds to throwing everything off.

Definitely keep an open mind with this gin and consider sipping it straight or with a winter cocktail.
